Yyrkoon is a Dragon Prince of the empire of Melniboné, cousin to Elric and brother of Cymoril.

Biography

Yyrkoon is convinced that the albino Elric is too feeble and disrespectful of tradition to sit upon the Ruby Throne and rule Melniboné.

Wielding Mournblade, Yyrkoon twice attempts to usurp the throne. After a pirate attack on the capital Imrryr, Yyrkoon pushes Elric out of the ship thinking he would drown due to the weight of his armor. Yyrkoon also twice abducts Elric's lover Cymoril, placing her into sorcerous sleep.

Ultimately, the conflict between the cousins leads to the death of Yyrkoon and Cymoril, the sacking of Imrryr, and the fall of Melniboné.
