Moorcock's Multiverse Wikia

The Three who are one is an aspect of the Eternal Champion that is comprised of three eternal champions merged or semi merged together.

The Vanishing Tower[]

Thethreewhoareone

The three are first formed in The Vanishing Tower/King of the Swords, where Corum, Elric and Erekose link their arms per advice of Jhari-a Connel, and gain the power to defeat the beasts that Voilodion Ghagnasdiak sent on them. Corum functioned as the center and Elric and Erekose battled with their black blades. The three briefly semi merged once again to knock down the steel door of the vault, before being forced to unfuse due to the instability of the tower.

Elric: The Balance Lost[]

Three-who-are-one

After failing to form the Four who are One, Elric, Corum and Hawkmoon are forced to form a second variant of the Three who are one, a massive 6 armed, 3 headed and 6 legged creature that's almost identical to the Four, but less powerful. They clash against the Lost Gods Kwll and Rhynn in order to prevent them from destroying the Cosmic Balance. The Three are unsuccessful and are subsequently subdued by the lost gods, until Eric Beck restores the Balance, causing the lost gods to grow tired of their quarrel and leave the scene. The Three unfuse as the gods depart.

Trivia:[]

  • In the comic adaptation of the Sailor on the Seas of Fate, Erekose erroneously asks Elric if he remembers being Three Who are one with Corum, despite claiming that he'd never met Corum beforehand (in his current incarnation)
  • Corum formed the second Three who are one not too long after he formed the Four who are one, since the time interval for him between the two events was short.
  • It is said that Corum functions as the head, with Elric and Erekose being his "arms" in the King of the Swords
  • Elric and Corum are the only two known champions to have participated in all of the known formings of the Three and Four who are one.
  • Unlike after forming the Four, Elric, Corum and Hawkmoon are not shown to suffer any ill effects after unfusing from their battle with the lost gods. This could be due to the fact that they were already familiar with how it worked.
  • Elric, Corum and Hawkmoon chant an incantation that was inspired by what Erekose stated in The Sailor on the Seas of Fate/Quest for Tanelorn when they formed the Four who are One. It's not known if it's just the incantation that enables them to merge, or if they require an external vessel like they did with Gagak. In any case, them putting their swords together is the starting point that enables the merging.
