Sir Huillam D'Averc is a Frenchman, a painter, an architect, a warrior, a turncoat, a former noble of Granbretan, a former member of the Order of the Boar, and a companion and ally to Dorian Hawkmoon. After initially opposing Dorian and Oladahn in his attempts to slay the wraiths of Soryandum, he eventually becomes Hawkmoon's closest companion, joining him on his quests for the Mad God's Red Amulet, the Sword of the Dawn, the Runestaff, and Tanelorn. After perishing in the final battle against the Beast Lords of Granbretan, D'Averc is restored to Hawkmoon with the rest of his lost friends and family by Sword in Tanelorn, and returns to his lover Countess Flana in Londra.
