Dragonhelm

Dragon Helms are baroque, highly detailed helms worn by the Dragon Princes of Melniboné. They are made of black metal with an exquisitely sculpted dragon perched on the crown.[1][2]

Elric of Melniboné is famous for his iconic Dragon Helm, and Yyrkoon wears one as well, though it is less magnificent than Elric's. The emperors of Melniboné also traditionally wear a lighter, ceremonial version of the Dragon Helm as a crown of authority. This lighter helm is made of a dark greenish alloy as opposed to black steel.[1]

The black helm, like the other pieces of his battle armour, was forged by sorcery and able to withstand the strongest blows, even those from the Black Swords, Stormbringer and Mournblade. It is also equipped with a visor that can be lowered to protect the face, which Elric did during his invasion of Dhoz-Kam so that he could avoid having to look directly into the Mirror of Memory.[1]

Dyvim Slorm wore a Dragon Helm during the final battle between Law and Chaos at the end of the Elric series. It had scales of red, green, and silver.[2]
